Funeral services and sepulture services are 2 different concepts. In the case of a purchase made after the death of a loved one, they may be part of the same contract or 2 separate contracts.
Funeral services
Funeral services include all of the goods and services provided with regards to a person’s death, other than the sepulture and its maintenance. Among other things, they may include:
- the embalming;
- the viewing;
- decorations;
- transportation;
- the coffin or urn;
- the ceremony;
- the cremation;
- the burial.
Sepulture
The sepulture includes the purchase of a compartment or any other space in a cemetery, columbarium or location used for a similar purpose. Maintenance services for this space are also included.
